Implementing a technology for the manufacture of high purity rubber granulate at Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. plant in Krosno Odrzańskie

In November 2020, Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. started executing its project called “Implementing a technology for the manufacture of high purity rubber granulate at Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. plant in Krosno Odrzańskie” within sub-action 3.2.2 being a “Loan for technological innovation” within the Intelligent Development Operational Programme co-financed from the European Funds.

The investment pertained to the implementation of our own new technology and starting up a manufacture of significantly improved products as compared to those that had been manufactured by Recykl O.O. S.A. up to that point.

The tyre recycling method based on our original technology for destoning rubber is a complete and ready-to-implement technology that has been registered for patent protection. All expenditures envisaged in the project are connected directly with the implementation of the said technology.

As a result of the said implementation, Recykl O.O. S.A. will be able to manufacture significantly improved rubber granulate. The new granulate will differentiate from other tyre-derived granulates that are available on the market (including the granulate that has so far been manufactured by Recykl O.O. S.A.) by being stone or debris free. At present, there are no technologies that ensure effective and cost-effective removal of stone impurities from granulates manufactured from used tyres. Improving our product by removing impurities will permit a broader range of applications, including uses where products offered so far were disqualified.

Project co-financing contract: POIR.03.02.02-00-2188/20

The total project value is PLN 11 367 722.00, and the maximum European Fund contribution is PLN 5 115 474.90.

The project is to be completed between November 2020 and December 2023.

Implementing an innovative stabilising agent into mineral-bitumen mixtures, the agent being obtained from used tyre recycling, having unique skid characteristics, and improving the quality of asphalt road surfaces

Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. has completed its project called “Implementing an innovative stabilising agent into mineral-bitumen mixtures, the agent being obtained from used tyre recycling, having unique skid characteristics, and improving the quality of asphalt road surfaces” within sub-action 3.2.1: “Research on the market” within the 2014-2020 Intelligent Development Operational Programme co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.

This project aims at increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness of the Applicant by implementing the results obtained in its R&D activities that are financed from its own resources. The project is to result in marketing a global innovation, i.e. a stabilising additive to mineral-bitumen mixtures that will permit manufacturing a new road construction product to improve the quality of road surfaces.

Project co-financing contract: POIR.03.02.01-06-0023/17-00

The total project value was approx. PLN 52 000 000.00, where European Fund contribution was PLN 19 998 000.00.

Project completion term: July 2018 – October 2020.

Innovative continuous rubber devulcanisation technology

Recykl Organizacja Odzysku S.A. implements its project called “Innovative continuous rubber devulcanisation technology” co-financed by the National Research and Development Centre within Action 1.2: “Sector B&R programmes” within the 2014-2020 Intelligent Development Operational Programme co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund.

The project aims at the development of a technology for continuous rubber devulcanisation to permit reuse of economically significant quantities or rubber originating from recycled tyres, and manufacture of new tyres and technical products made from rubber, and at the same time supporting circular economy, and reducing CO2 emissions.

Project co-financing contract: POIR.01.02.00-00-0081/17-00

Project completion term: October 2017 – August 2021.

The total project value was PLN 2 106 127.03, where European Fund contribution was PLN 1 305 119.65.

Rubber mixtures for industrial applications with an addition of rubber granulates and devulcanisates from recycled tyres

Grupa Recykl S.A. implements its project called “Rubber mixtures for industrial applications with an addition of rubber granulates from recycled tyres” co-financed from the National Centre for Research and Development within Action 1.1 2014-2020 Intelligent Development Operational Programme co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The project aims at the development of SBR rubber mixtures with an addition of rubber granulates and devulcanised rubber originating from the processing of used tyres, and at assigning their possible applications based on their strength parameters, and chemical as well as rheological properties. The action will result in establishing a composition of rubber mixtures containing devulcanised rubber from recycled tyres that will be manufactured on an industrial scale – e.g. industrial tyre threads, rubber linings, wheels for waste containers, and other technical products made from rubber.

Project co-financing contract: POIR.01.01.01-00-0683/17-00

The total project value was PLN 1 499 193.49, and the maximum contribution from the European Funds was PLN 808 091.43.

Project completion term: October 2017 – October 2018.

Environmental protection as our priority axis

On 08.09.2017, Recykl O.O.S.A. signed a loan agreement for the implementation of actions involved in an extension of the system for selective waste collection with  WFOŚiGW (Regional Environment Protection and Water Management Fund). The action called “Building a regional/cross-regional system for selective PC waste tyre collection, waste code: 16 01 03″ was co-financed from the Regional Environment Protection and Water Management Fund in Poznań. The action involved a purchase of 4 specialist vehicles (the so called hook lift trucks) and 4 specialist trailers for transporting containers. Additionally, we purchased 100 containers for shipping used tyres.

The co-financing that Recykl O.O.S.A was granted has permitted our implementation of the said action, and therefore increased the diversification of our sources of used tyre waste, and increased our independence from external suppliers.
